Treetops Trail

The siamang’s calls are probably the first sounds of the wild to greet you. Our pair of Siamangs, Anna and Ako, advertise their presence with the siamang ‘song’ of loud booms and barks. Their throat sac, which can inflate to the size of its head, helps amplify calls to ear-splitting levels. You can hear them from the entrance! Head over to the elevated platform to watch these acrobatic creatures brachiate effortlessly from branch to branch in the treetops.

Tigers are at the apex of the food chain. These solitary hunters can handle animal prey up to a ton in weight..

Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia

Together with the nimble Nubian ibexes, the Hamadryas baboons rule the rugged rockscape. Explore further to meet the meerkats, black-backed jackals and rock hyraxes. Also stop by the rustic dwelling huts recreating life in the Konso and Amharic villages.

Australasia

While most of the world’s marsupials are found in Australia, marsupials also occur naturally in New Guinea, Indonesia and surrounding islands and the Americas. Besides the grey kangaroos and agile wallabies from Australia, this exhibit also showcases the tree kangaroos from Papua New Guinea.

Elephants of Asia

Some of the park’s most threatened species will be housed in Winged Sanctuary, a zone specially dedicated to birds of high conservation value including Critically Endangered species like the Philippine Eagle, Vietnam Pheasant, and Negros Bleeding-heart. Winged Sanctuary shines the spotlight on rare and predatory species of high conservation value that have been excluded from the mixed-species habitats. Housing over 100 species of birds, including the Brahminy Starling, Santa Cruz Ground Dove, Maleo and Philippine Falconet, the exhibits offer close-up observations and understanding of these species and their behaviours.

Primate Kingdom

In Primate Kingdom, our primates play, rest and forage on `islands’. Plantings of trees, wild grasses, gingers, palms and bamboo help recreate the primates’ natural habitat by adding lush greenery. The moats hugging islands are filled with fish, including the impressive South American arapaima. While you’re here, look out for the free-ranging Javan langurs. You might just spot their delicate facial features among the treetops!
